Oh, genuine question for the non-native English speakers publishing their fic in English! How do you manage to do that? Do you have a good enough English practise to translate your work yourself? Are you using an automatic translator then just passing through all the biggest grammar/vocabulary mistakes? Do you ask a native for help? Or you just don’t give a f**ck and publish it with all possible mistakes? 😅
I never dared to it but I would like so much to try it!!
The way I will put AWAY fics with poor grammar if I know the authors first language is not English. Like, awe babe, I knew what you meant. BUT THE SECOND it’s an American who’s grammar is god awful I’m like “is the plot worth all this?” (Also, I love British authors who wrote American characters but still use bristish slang lol)
I’m currently downloading fanfics from AO3 due to the last outage and the realization that I need my fics saved and y'all ain’t nothing like seeing how many pages a fic is to really put it in perspective.
I just read a fic that was only 3 chapters and like 80k words. To me that’s a quick read. Epub says it’s over 800 pages. Like holy shit. I’m just casually reading several hundred pages and sometimes even thousands of pages like it ain’t nothing
Order of the phoenix only has about 255,000 words and like 870 pages !! So there’s that to compare life size
I love Derek Hale so much. He’s literally my favorite fictional character to ever exist. I still haven’t seen the movie because I can not watch him die. 🥺
Teen wolf the movie fix it au where the last time Derek died stiles lost his mind and accidentally maybe on purpose magic’d a spell to keep Derek alive as long as he is alive and then forgot about it but like sometimes Derek just. Dies and regenerates to where stiles is. So when the sheriff actually bothers to call stiles to tell him Derek died, stiles is like eating a bowl of cereal completely unbothered like “lol again?” And then walks to his bedroom and looks at his watch and waits a few minutes and Derek magically appears or something and stiles is like “you have to stop doing that it freaks people out”
